How can dental implants help me?
If you have one or more missing teeth, falling teeth, or have traditional tooth replacement solutions, you can benefit from dental implants. They’re designed to replace the root of the tooth and gradually integrate into the jawbone, creating a solid foundation for a replacement tooth or set of teeth.
This means they look and feel just like your natural teeth, and eliminate many of the hassles of dentures or other removable tooth replacements. They’re easy to maintain, won’t slip out of place, and they look amazing.
Is it painful to get dental implants?
At Brooklyn Heights Dental, your comfort is our priority. We do everything we can to make your dental implant experience as pain-free as possible. We’re happy to offer sedation dentistry options–including nitrous oxide and IV (intravenous) sedation–to help you relax and remain comfortable during your dental implant procedure.
With sedation, we can help ensure you have little to no pain during your procedure, and with deeper methods, you may have no memory of the process.
Some swelling and discomfort are common during the healing process. Dr. Stanislaus will prescribe medication to help ease any pain you may experience in the days following your dental implant procedure.
How long does it take to get dental implants?
Dr. Stanislaus customizes each dental implant treatment to the patient’s specific needs, meaning that treatment time will vary from person to person. In general, the dental implant process is completed in a series of appointments over several months.
Taking time to heal between each stage of the process is very important for both the short and long-term success of your dental implants. It’s during this time that your jawbone fuses with your implant, creating a strong foundation for your new tooth or set of teeth.
How much do dental implants cost?
We know many of our Brooklyn-area patients are concerned about the cost of their dental implant treatment. Considering that dental implants are a long-term investment in oral health and future happiness, most patients realize that the benefits far outweigh the costs.
Since each patient’s treatment is customized, the cost of the procedure will vary. The best way to determine the cost of your treatment is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Stanislaus.
We offer several financing options to help make treatment more accessible and our team will work with you to find a payment plan that fits your budget. We’ll help you make the most of your dental insurance. Furthermore, we also offer interest-free and long-term third-party financing options to help make dental implants affordable.
I have more than one missing tooth. Can dental implants help me?
I have dentures. Can I get dental implants?
Yes. If you currently wear traditional dentures, we offer several options for securing a full denture with dental implants so they won’t slip out of place. Options include implant-supported bridges that are permanently attached and overdentures that can be removed for cleaning but take full advantage of the security of implants.
I have gum disease. Will I qualify for dental implants?
Although having a healthy mouth is one of the factors that will determine the success of your dental implants, patients with existing gum disease may still be able to qualify. The key is treating the infection before dental implant treatment begins.
At Brooklyn Heights Dental, we offer a full range of periodontal (gum disease) treatments to prepare your mouth for dental implant placement. We feature laser periodontal therapy with LANAP (Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure), which minimizes discomfort and aids in recovery as compared to traditional surgical methods.
Dr. Stanislaus also uses the Chao Pinhole® surgical technique which treats gum recession without using gum grafts, requiring less downtime.
